The jet edge blast unit.
Two guns running off one ‘Jet Edge’ unit Normal UHP unit gives around 2000 bar with a much higher water consumption. The ‘Jet Edge’ unit gives 3,800 bar with two guns. Very high work rates can be achieved because the velocity of the waterjet approaches Mach 3. The higher pressures and lower flow are safer to handle and produce much faster results.
LOW WATER VOLUMES
Only low volumes of water are required, typically of the order of eight litres per minute, and therefore fresh water consumption is kept to a minimum.
SAFETY FACTOR
Low volume UHP waterjets have enormous power at short range but lose their cohesion within one metre – a major safety factor.
Working conditions are cleaner and environmentally sympathetic.
Virtually any kind of material separation task can be carried out other than cutting metals. Extremely hard and tenacious coatings such as epoxy resins, plastics, rubbers, tightly-adherent corrosion and even radio-active contamination can now be readily and cost-effectively removed.
